You Tube

I really enjoy fossicking around on YouTube. If its not finding new versions of favorite songs, it's watching history unfold. I remember sitting up late on the night Obama won the US election, searching to find his victory speech. There's only a short moment in time between a major event happening and it making it online. I propose there should be a word for those little spaces of time in-between. Perhaps tube limbo or something like that.

I've been enjoying playing with you tube now that I have an account and can upload videos - it was something I hadn't imagined myself doing. The user interface is so easy - and its very easy to add sound tracks using audioswap.

Here is my first attempt at posting - a little routine from one of my cats that I've always wanted to record.

Podcasting

I've been using podcasts for a while now - I often download the audiofiles from The Daily Planet on Radio National. I also often listen to Dig radio on Radio National , and they often have good podcasts to download with interviews and recordings of live performances. My mission is to try to organise favorite programs podcasts into RSS feeds that I can sit on my blog. Is that possible blogger friends? Pictured is Diva enjoying listening to Blue King Brown through DIG streaming radio. You can hear more of Blue King Brown here.

Getting the library thing

Today's task was to list my books up on Library Thing. I am astounded at how fast one can sign up, build a profile and add content to these applications. I'll be needing to go back in there pretty quickly to make sure I didn't forget my user name and password. Luckily Nancy Pearl, legendary librarian, was on hand to talk Diva through the library thing thing. My library shelf to date can be found here.

Diva goes to Hollywood

When I started the tutorial on image generators, I remembered one I had used before, it was sent to me as a link from a friend (was it you Carol?). I didn't recognize that I was using a "image generator" at the time. This is what I could produce by using: http://www.glassgiant.com/hollywood_sign/

Using Bubbleshare

I followed the suggestion in the Vicnet Learning 2.0 tutorial and tried BubbleShare as an alternative photo sharing tool to Flickr. What I like about this application is that you can upload photos directly into an album a opposed to the ongoing photostream of Flickr. My task now is to use it a few times so I don't forget how.

Its the first time I've had to cut and paste code to a blog and assuming it works this time, a good thing to get used to. Here's my album from the Australian war Memorial:
